Sometimes
taking a day out by train is not the most appealing
idea. You might have several changes of train, it
will probably be quite expensive, and the train may well
be busy. So why not take a rail tour? Train
tours operate with dedicated trains, so it is only those
on the tour on board. There is plenty of space,
everyone gets a seat, and they use trains with
comfortable coaches. Also with it being a tour all
you need to do is get to the joining station and then
sit down and relax - no changes of train and one
reasonable price for the day out. Rail tours have
long been associated with rail enthusiasts (and they are
still good for those with an interest in the train!)
However people simply looking for a day out have also
discovered tour trains as an excellent way to get out
and about. Tour companies are also responding by
scheduling tours that take in nice scenery and visits to
places of interest.
Our friends at Compass Tours have some excellent day's
out by train during 2011.
