Compass Tours organizes day trips by charter train via scenic routes to locations not easily visited in the same day. The ethos of the charter train by Compass is a relaxing day out, which anybody may enjoy, in comfortable Intercity carriages which convey a friendly atmosphere in which passengers can socialize and unwind. The trips allow customers to enjoy miles of often unspoilt countryside and reach areas and interesting destinations often not possible by the convenient direct train from the pickup area (or at all). Refreshments are available all day from the buffet car and there are stewards traveling on board every train to offer assistance and answer any queries (where possible) which adds to the overall experience. Standard class seating is generally always supplemented by the option of paying a little extra for a bit more luxury and traveling first class instead which offers a slightly more tranquil ride, bigger seats, even more leg room and some additional interior decor (as well as occasional visits by an seat catering trolley). All seating is pre-reserved (in both classes) by advance booking, to ensure that everybody has a seat for the full day (and nobody need stand)!
