British Passenger Rail Companies. 

Intercity and Long Distance

These companies operate the fast high speed railways linking the major towns and cities.  Other Intercity services include the overnight sleeper services.  Additionally several companies link regional towns with fast and frequent services.  Although not 'intercity' trains, these services will travel at up to 100mph and offer most of the amenities of the Intercity operators.

Intercity 

High Speed Trains To Europe

Intercity Services from London to the West of England.  Including overnight Night Riviera Service.

Intercity Trains from Hull to London

East Coast Services from London to Leeds / Hull / Newcastle / Edinburgh / Aberdeen and Inverness

From London to the Midlands, Sheffield, Nottingham and Leicester.

Intercity trains from London to Norwich and East Anglia.  Also regional and local railways in the East Anglia area.

West Coast Intercity services from London to Birmingham, Manchester, Crewe, Holyhead, Liverpool and Glasgow. 
Cross Country services.  Birmingham is the hub of the Cross Country network.  Trains like the Southwest with the Midlands and the North East. 

Regional

Regional, local and commuter services throughout Wales. 

First Scotrail.  Intercity services between Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Inverness and Aberdeen.  Regional Services to the far north and west coast.  Also local and commuter services. 

Services from London to the Coastal Towns.  Also local and commuter services in the South. 

Services from London to Southampton, Weymouth, Poole.

Linking the North of England from West to East with Manchester as the hub. 

Services in the West of England.  Bristol is the hub.  Serving Cardiff, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Penance.  Also local rail services in the West of England including many scenic branch lines.
